Abstract: Унаслідок проведеного дослідження було встановлено, що у романах-антиутопіях, зокрема Дж. Орвелла та О. Гаксклі розглядаються суспільно-політичні, психологічні та філософські проблеми у синтезі, по відношенню до місця особистості у суспільстві, відтак, вони є надзвичайно актуальними за своєю проблематикою, особливо в наш час, коли тоталітарні суспільні амбіції окремих держав світу суттєво активізувалися й почали загрожувати світовому демократичному порядку. В романах Дж. Орвелла та О. Гаксклі ці суспільно-політичні тенденції були прогнозовані ще у першій половині ХХ ст. Перспективу наступних досліджень вбачаємо у подальшому поглибленні аналізу соціально-філософської проблематики роману-антиутопії та її зв′язків із сучасними історичними реаліями й контекстом їх новітніх літературознавчих досліджень. // As a result of the conducted research, it was established that in dystopian novels, in particular, by G. Orwell and A. Huxley, socio-political, psychological and philosophical problems are considered in a synthesis, in relation to the place of the individual in a society, therefore, they are extremely relevant in terms of their subject matter, especially in our time when the totalitarian societal ambitions of certain world states have significantly intensified and begun to threaten the global democratic order. In the novels of G. Orwell and A. Huxley, these socio-political trends were predicted as early as in the first half of the 20th century. D. Abstract: The Enlightenment, or Age of Reason, was a period of history in Western Europe. During the 1600s and 1700s, Enlightenment thinkers ushered in the modern age. Isaac Newton, René Descartes, Thomas Hobbes, John Locke, Baron de Montesquieu, and Voltaire were important thinkers of the time. With the exception of Hobbes, the Enlightenment thinkers emphasized intellectual freedom. Locke, Montesquieu, and Voltaire believed that government should guarantee the basic rights of citizens.
